Jax is no longer available for adoption. We rarely have young puppies in rescue. On the rare occasions when we do, so many people want them that we place them very quickly. If you'll consider an adolescent or adult Keeshond, we'll be happy to see if we can match you with a different dog.
If your heart is set on a purebred Keeshond puppy, please purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder. You will find a list of the Keeshond breeders we recommend in Northern CA on our resources page, along with our article on how to find a puppy. Please DO NOT buy a puppy from a pet shop, newspaper ad, online classified ads such as Craigslist or one of those websites that advertise puppies for sale! Reputable Keeshond breeders do not sell their puppies through those venues! Those puppies are much more likely to have health and temperament problems than puppies from good breeders. You'll find more information about online puppy sales here.
Jax's first owners purchased him as a companion for their 1-year-old toddler. In less than 2 weeks, they realized that mom didn't have the time or energy to raise a puppy and a toddler! We're calling him Jax because our volunteers sacrificed their poker night to rescue him! LOL
Jax is kissy, affectionate and sweet. He's very people-oriented, cuddly, and he loves to play with other dogs.
As a baby puppy, Jax has a lot of learning to do! He needs a patient person with a
sense of humor and lots of time and energy for him. He'll grow into a wonderful
companion for his lucky new person.
